Be Safe Riding Motorcycles

Protect yourself from personal harm or property damage. If you stop too close to the vehicle in front of you, you are trapped. If bumped from behind, you have no way to escape. This is a favorite of bad actors. Furthermore, if the driver in front of you decides to back up, they may not see you and back right into or over you, in the case of a big truck.

The second photo shows that the bottom of the rear wheels of the car in front are visible,. In this situation, you can turn your wheels all the way to one side, hit the gas and go. Also, the driver side mirror is visible, so you can be seen if they back up. The mirrors can’t be seen in the first photo.

I just saw a picture of a motorcycle crushed by a semi. The bike was too close and right in the center. Driver couldn’t see the bike and was backing up to make a missed turn. At least stop off to the side where you can see the mirror.

Practice safe driving skills and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
